I went back and looked through the posts this year and I don't think I shared this Amy Tangerine page with you.  It's one of my very, very favorites -- there's so much I love about it.  The photos, the place, the memories -- and one of my favorite lines ever.  LOVE it!

Studio Calico's Abroad! {and a giveaway}

I am a big fan of studio calico and a big fan of the new abroad line.  I've been waiting to scrap some photos of a weekend trip we took this winter to Cincinnati.  (side note, we lived there for 4+ years but we left there in 2002!)  It was a great little weekend and I knew I wanted to make a layout about the fun we had!

LOVED these elements - the patterned papers and the wood veneer are so fun to work with.

There was a lift challenge over at my scrapbook nook and I played along, of course.  I love a good challenge, especially a scraplift one.  (Scraplifts are great because you can take a page you like and put your own spin on it!)  Anyway, I lifted this page by Kali and I love the results!

it's coming...

summer, that is.  it's coming.  and I'm going to be ready.  i'm starting with the anticipating -- photos like this rev it right up.  It'll be different this year, no beach a short car ride away.  But, we'll have a pool in our backyard and a whole slew of other new adventures waiting.  I'm sure they are good ones. 

A little stamping, a little stitching, a little silhouette and some Elles Studio and Studio Calico.  Warm.  Just like the sand in July.

Just a quick card share today -- Nikki Sivils has joined up with Glue Arts and that makes me super happy!  I used the glue glider pro (AMAZING.  Seriously loved this thing!) and the adhesive squares on this project and they were DREAMY.  Seriously so easy to use.  This is definitely a favorite of mine.

Over the Easter holiday my In Laws came down to celebrate.  We had a great weekend (minus the medical malady that occured, but I won't get into that!) and one of the best parts were the plants that they brought from their own yard.  It happened to be the perfect time to split the plants and that is what they did.  Then, lucky for us, my father in law planted them too.  Harrison LOVED helping and I loved the results!

LOVE those kraft tags from Pebbles -- they are great, pretty sad I've used them all up!

I would be lost without you

I just have a second, this is the CRAZIEST DAY ever.  NO joke.  Campbell has a track meet, then ALL 3 BOYS have a baseball game.  Plus, I chose today to buy flowers to plant -- which I need to do.  BUT, I wanted to share one quick page with you.  Misting and stamping...plus the silhouette.  A page about my boy, love him.  <3

fun and festive birthday decor!

A few weeks ago, my son Sawyer turned 9 (TURN.BACK.THE.CLOCK.PLEASE) and I wanted to make something cute to adorn his spot at the breakfast table.  I knew he'd have gifts there, but I wanted to make it extra special.  Enter Pretty Little Studio's Clowning Around and it was cute, festive and fun!

• I started with 12 4″x4″ inches squares of paper. I adhered them back to back so there would be plenty of patterned paper no matter which way the pinwheel was turned!

• Then, I cut the paper on the 4 corners stopping before I reached the center.

• I adhered 4 of the corners to the center with glue dots.

• Each center then received a foam adhesive square, a 1 1/8 punched circle and a 1″ Party Clowns Vintage Circle Tags.

• The pinwheels were finished and just needed a fun striped straw to stick into the milkglass urn! Fun, festive and totally appropriate for anyone!

Fun, right?  We're off for a busy Monday and working on the start of A Week In the Life.  I've not done this project in a couple of years and I'm super excited to be taking it on again!

I work out

Harrison is typically very funny -- this week has been NO exception.  We've had family visiting so he's been funnier than usual.  

With guests in the guest room (where the treadmill lives!) there's been lots of reason to get in there and pump some 2 pound iron.  And he loves it.

The challenge this month for Simple Scrapper was to use lyrics/quotes somehow.  So, I used LMFAO'S Sexy and I know it.  One, it TOTALLY fit the photos (that aren't the best quality) AND Harrison loves the song.  WIN WIN.

Turned out very fun and completely tells the quirky story.

Oooh!  A scraplift challenge!  Of course I had to participate!  I spied this page by Sue and immediately knew what I would do with it.  

This goes along with my new perspective on scrapping/photos.  To be there -- to be present and IN the photo.  I am, afterall, part of the story. :)
